Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. They are organic compounds that contain both an amino group (-NH2) and a carboxyl group (-COOH) and are essential for many functions in the body. There are 20 different amino acids that can be used to make proteins, out of which 9 are considered essential, meaning that they cannot be produced by the body and must be obtained through diet.

  • Promoting healthy skin, hair and nails: Some amino acids, such as cysteine, help promote healthy skin, hair and nails.
  • Promoting healthy digestion: Some amino acids, such as glutamine, help promote healthy digestion.
  • Helping to balance hormones: Some amino acids, such as arginine and lysine, help balance hormones.
  • Helping to reduce inflammation: Some amino acids, such as glutamine and cysteine, help reduce inflammation.

It’s important to note that, while amino acids are important for good health, having too much of certain amino acids can have negative effects, and not all amino acids are equally beneficial for everyone.
